Dusty Vinyl Vol. 1: The Muppet Musicians of Bremen

Apparently this is a Muppet story, with some songs thrown in, rather then a soundtrack per se. Its about a bunch of robbers that keep some good ole Louisiana animals down. I have never seen the video version of this story. But, the robbers are full sized people Muppets in the vein of Sweetums. If you are familiar with him.

At this point the donkey's voice seems eerily familiar, although Nick Nichols does not ring a bell. According to IMDB his claim to fame seems to be on the short lived cartoon C.O.P.S. which I never watched. He kind of sounds like Bender from futurama if Bender was southern and a donkey.

While I still find Muppet stories and songs enduring without visuals I feel like I'm missing something. The front cover featuring a donkey Muppet on four legs with a tuba and a donkey cart demonstrates how much is lost without visuals.

The one thing this record makes me question is whether or not is unethical to name a child Catgut. Seriously, villain names do not get any better.

Was the vinyl worth buying?: Probably not, its much more enjoyable to watch it on YouTube. For kitch value alone it's pretty sweet, but that's about it. For your viewing pleasure I'll place the first part below. We can enjoy it together. Well not really but just imagine I'm next to you... watching the Muppets.... that's not creepy at all.

Next time: Angelic Upstarts: Anthems against scum. I'm familiar with the band, and the song "Last night another soldier." But I have no idea if I've ever listened to this. I think I've had it as long as I've had a record player. What can I say... this ones probably really dusty.
